New Labeling Help for People with Food Allergies

Abstract

If you’re allergic to eggs, you just look for the word “eggs” on a food’s ingredients list to see if you should avoid the product, right? Wrong. To simplify the process of identifying products that can cause reactions in people with food allergies, Congress has just passed the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act.
